At Kite and Roll we also give courses for children. We have a team of monitors with a lot of experience teaching courses to minors. The minimum age we recommend for children to have fun with this sport is 7 years old. This is not a rule, there are younger children who really enjoy it. For these courses we use small kites and short lines.

Courses with children are usually private (1 instructor per student) or semi-private (1 instructor / 2 students), so that they receive the greatest possible attention and a very personalized treatment, important to maintain safety standards.

More and more children practice this sport, we have many students who want to learn alone or with a friend. Also many parents come to learn with their children. We encourage you to try it as a family! We guarantee safety, fun and learning with methodology.

What does it consist of?

Course for children

Most of the children come with the Initiation or Intermediate level, that is why we base ourselves on these 4 steps, adjusting to the evolution of each student: the theory of wind and material. Kite on land and later on water. And when you are ready we will add the table and navigate.

Wind theory: know the material and the kite on the ground

Bodydrag

We put on the wetsuit and go to the water. It’s the funniest part, the Bodydrag.

Waterstart

We go to the water with the board and try to sail.

The course includes

Put on your bathing suit and sunglasses. We take care of the rest: kite, board, wetsuit, vest, harness, helmet and good vibes! All the necessary material for the courses is included in the price.

Description Kitesurf Course for Children

DAY 1 – Theory of the wind, know the material and kite on land

Brief theory to familiarize you with the basic concepts of wind and kitesurfing. First contact with the kite. Learn to handle the kite in the sand.

Day 2 – Body drag in the water

We put on the wetsuit and go to the water. It’s the funniest part, the Bodydrag.

Day 3 – Water Start: Kite and board in the water.

We go to the water with the board and try to sail.

Can children learn kitesurfing?

Thanks to the new methodologies and security measures, we have been able to start the little ones in this wonderful sport, in a safe and fun way.

Every year we have more children, who come to learn alone or as a family!

Many parents want to learn this sport with their children and many parents who already sail are looking forward to their children learning and being able to share this experience with them.

Who is going to teach me kitesurfing?

You will learn kitesurfing with a duly qualified instructor, with many years of experience, so that you can learn in the fastest, safest and most fun way.

We are the only kitesurf school in Tarifa that has 2 instructors LEVEL II from the F.A.V (mandatory to work LEVEL I)

What security measures does the school have?

The most important thing is the experience and qualifications of the monitors. We have new and state-of-the-art equipment; and rescue boats that will always be attentive to all the students in the water.

And, of course, we have the civil liability and accident insurance that the city of Tarifa requires in order to have the kitesurf school license.

What is a Kitesurf course for?

Kitesurfing courses are designed for you to learn in a safe and fun way.

We do not recommend that you try to learn the sport alone or with unqualified friends, as you expose yourself to unnecessary risk.

At what age can you practice kitesurfing?

Thanks to new kite designs, safety systems and teaching methodologies, you can start at approximately 7 years of age.

Is it a dangerous sport?

Over the years and the evolution of the material, the design of the kites, the safety systems and the new teaching methodologies have made kitesurfing an extremely safe sport.

You will fly away when you become an experienced kiter and enjoy flying.

What requirements must monitors meet?

All monitors must have the official qualification as a kitesurf monitor by the Spanish Sailing Federation. They have to be registered with social security.

They must also have experience, predisposition and a positive attitude.
